The movie ‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ (directed by Makoto Shinkai) ranked first in the weekend box office for 28 consecutive days.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 5th, 'Suzume's Lockdown' on the 4th mobilized 35,093 people, recording a total cumulative audience of 3,859,575.

‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ surpassed ‘Your Name’ (3.8 million viewers), which was the biggest box office hit among director Makoto Shinkai’s domestically released works. The point of interest is whether director Makoto, who recorded his own highest score, will be able to take the top spot among Japanese films released domestically.

Currently, first place is held by 'The First Slam Dunk' (directed by Takehiko Inoue), and 'Suzume's Lockdown' is gaining more viewers faster than 'The First Slam Dunk', so it is expected that it will easily achieve first place. It seems possible that it will surpass 4 million by the end of this week.

'Suzume's Lockdown' tells the story of Suzume, a girl who accidentally opens a door that causes disaster, and desperately tries to close it to prevent disasters occurring throughout Japan. The movie takes as its main subject the Great East Japan Earthquake, which had a magnitude of 9.0, the largest ever observed in Japan. ‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ is a movie that attracted 10 million viewers in Japan and is also a box office hit in Korea.

Second place went to ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves’ (directed by Jonathan Goldstein), which attracted 11,522 people and recorded a cumulative audience of 201,465. ‘The First Slam Dunk’, ranked 3rd, has a cumulative number of 439,7923 people.

4th place is ‘Woongnam’ (Director Park Seong-gwang), and 5th place is ‘Rebound’ (Director Jang Hang-jun).
