Shin Ye-eun selected as Korea's only 'Mario Coin' protagonist

In celebration of the domestic release of the American animation 'Super Mario Bros.', the only 'Mario Coin' in Korea was selected by actress Shin Ye-eun.

Shin Ye-eun posed with the 'Mario Coin', saying, "I have the only coin in Korea...! Let's go to the Mushroom Kingdom with me." Shin Ye-eun, who is known to be a big fan of the Mario character, attracts attention by matching a red knit reminiscent of Mario with suspender jeans.

The 'Mario Coin' that Shin Ye-eun received as a gift is said to be the only special gift that arrived in Korea in time for the release of 'Super Mario Bros.', making it even more special.

Shin Ye-eun gained fame this year by appearing as a child student of school violence perpetrator Park Yeon-jin in the Netflix series 'The Glory'. Next, he is meeting fans by showing off his refreshing charm through the currently airing SBS drama 'Flower Scholar's Love Story'.

'Super Mario Bros.' has been on a super box-office run from the start, setting a new record for the best opening for a global animation of all time, setting the record for the highest opening in North America in 2023, and taking first place at the box office in 60 countries around the world.

It tells the adventure of Mario, an ordinary plumber in New York, who levels up to 'Super Mario' and rescues his younger brother Luigi, who has been kidnapped by Koopa, a villain from another world. It was released in North America on the 5th, and will be released in Korea on the 26th.
