Lee Howon chosen as the main character in the movie ‘Mountain Road’

Actor Howon Lee appears as the lead in 'Mountain Bok Road' (working title) and meets the audience.

On the 25th, his agency Initial Entertainment said, “Actor Lee Howon will appear in the movie 'Mountain Road.' “We ask for your interest in Lee Howon, who has attempted to transform his image through this film.”

The movie 'Mountain Bok Road' is a feature film based on the true story of boxing heroes who thrilled the entire nation during the chaos of the 1980s in Korea. Set in Ami-dong, Busan, it is expected to capture the growth process and rough lives of five slum friends who built a house on a cemetery and moved back and forth from 1979 to 1986 to 2022.

This work, co-produced by Iroi Works and Metapolo Studio, will be helmed by director Kim Si-woo, who directed the films 'Hello Dong-seon' and 'Turandot: Kingdom of Darkness'. Here, attention is focused even more as a brilliant production team including Australian cinematographer Damien Bibby and martial arts director Lee Tae-young of the Netflix series 'Squid Game' joins the film.

Howon Lee plays the role of 'Jjanggu', a boxer who started boxing with the dream of becoming a world champion in a hungry slum with nothing but his two fists. In the play, Jjanggu is a character who pursues his dream of becoming a world champion while enduring arduous training and rigorous weight loss. Howon Lee raises expectations by saying that he is preparing for the work by devoting himself to actual boxing practice to play this role.

Lee Howon, who met audiences through the movie 'Birth' last year, appeared as a member of Ambitious on Mnet's 'Street Man Fighter' and showed off his various appearances. He also played the role of 'Won Ryu-hwan', the main character in the musical 'Secretly, Greatly: THE LAST'. Attention is focused on how Lee Howon, who is carrying out a variety of activities across the screen and stage, will return.

'Mountain Bok Road', which is scheduled to be released in the second half of this year, has confirmed its main cast, including Lee Howon, actors Kim Won-hae, and Ahn Nae-sang, and is scheduled to start cranking out in mid-May.
