Sol Kyung-gu, Do Kyung-soo, Kim Hee-ae's 'The Moon' confirmed for release

The movie 'The Moon' (directed by Kim Yong-hwa) has confirmed its release on August 2nd.

According to distributor CJ ENM on the 4th, director Kim Yong-hwa's new film 'The Moon', who became the most successful director with the 'Along with the Gods' series, has confirmed its release on August 2nd. In addition, the launching poster and launching trailer were released.

'The Moon' is a work that depicts the struggle between space crew Seon-woo (played by Do Kyung-soo), who is stranded on the moon alone due to an accident, and former space center director Jae-guk (played by Sol Kyung-gu), who desperately tries to save him.

'The Moon' attracted attention early on as the first space project of director Kim Yong-hwa, who directed the 'Along with the Gods' series. The lineup was completed with Sol Kyung-gu, Do Kyung-soo, and Kim Hee-ae. There is growing curiosity about how director Kim Yong-hwa would have portrayed the dramatic story of Korea's first manned lunar exploration mission and isolation in space.

Sol Kyung-gu plays Jae-guk, the former head of the space center who struggles to save Seon-woo, who is left alone in space, and Do Kyung-soo plays Seon-woo, a space crew stranded alone in space beyond 384,000 km, and faces an extreme situation. Kim Hee-ae will play the role of Moon Young, the general director of NASA's space station, adding weight to the drama.

The released launching poster highlights the familiar yet unfamiliar visuals of the moon and the image of a space crew standing alone on the moon's surface. The sight of the first Korean space crew to set foot on the surface of the moon evokes both strange emotion and tension. The launch trailer shows a space crew member's rescue request ringing out over the awe-inspiringly beautiful image of the moon, stimulating curiosity about how a human left alone in the vast universe will survive.
