According to distributor CJ ENM, 'The Moon' has confirmed its release on August 2nd. 'The Moon' is a story about the struggle between Seonwoo (played by Do Kyung-soo), a space crew member who is stranded on the moon alone due to an accident, and Jae-guk (played by Sol Kyung-gu), the former head of the space center, who desperately tries to save him.
‘The Moon’ is the first space project of director Kim Yong-hwa, who directed the ‘Along with the Gods’ series of movies. It adds to curiosity by telling the story of Korea's first manned lunar exploration mission and isolation in space. Do Kyung-soo reunited with director Kim Yong-hwa through 'The Moon'.
Do Kyung-soo played the voice of the main character, Mung-chi, in the movie 'Underdog' released in 2019. He made his screen debut in 2014 with 'Cart' and appeared in 'Pure Love', 'Brother', 'Room No. 7', 'Along with the Gods - Crime and Punishment', 'Along with the Gods - Cause and Effect', and 'Swing Kids'. He met the audience four years after 'Underdog'.
Do Kyung-soo, who enlisted on July 1, 2019, was discharged on January 25, 2021. The first work Do Kyung-soo chose after being discharged from the military was ‘The Moon.’ Do Kyung-soo met viewers through the drama 'True Sword Battle', which ended in November last year. The work filmed first was ‘The Moon’, but the one that was released first was ‘True Sword Battle’.

'The Moon' has confirmed its release date two years after completing filming through post-production. In the drama, Do Kyung-soo plays the role of Seon-woo, a space crew stranded alone in space beyond 384,000 km. Attention is being paid to what a new appearance Do Kyung-soo, who made an extraordinary transformation from a bad prosecutor in 'True Sword Competition', will show.
Do Kyung-soo reunited with director Kim Yong-hwa, with whom he worked in the 'Along with the Gods' series, on 'The Moon'. The chemistry between Sol Kyung-gu and Kim Hee-ae is shown for the first time. Through the launch trailer, you can get a glimpse of the space crew in crisis above the beautiful image of the moon. The space crew's request for rescue rings out, raising curiosity about how a human being left alone in a huge universe will survive.
‘The Moon’ tells the story of Korea’s first manned lunar exploration mission and a space crew stranded in space. At the center is Do Kyung-soo. With director Kim Yong-hwa, he returns with a summer tentpole film (a commercial film that is sure to be a box office hit) six years after 'Along with the Gods - Crime and Punishment', drawing attention.
Previously, Kim Hye-soo and Yeom Jeong-ah's 'Smuggler' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan) confirmed its release on July 26, forming a tentpole lineup. In addition, Ha Jung-woo and Ju Ji-hoon's 'Kidnapped' (directed by Kim Seong-hoon) and Lee Byung-hun, Park Seo-joon and Park Bo-young's 'Concrete Utopia' (directed by Eom Tae-hwa) are expected to occupy the remaining two tentpole spots. Do Kyung-soo, who returns to the screen after four years, is raising expectations about what kind of appearance he will show in 'The Moon'.
