Song Joong-ki enters the Cannes red carpet for the first time with 'Hwaran'
Actor Song Joong-ki enters Cannes for the first time.

According to his agency Hijim Studio on the 18th, Song Joong-ki will attend the 76th Cannes International Film Festival. This is because the movie 'Hwaran' (directed by Kim Chang-hoon) starring Song Joong-ki was officially invited to the Un Certain Regard section of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival. With this, Song Joong-ki will walk on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time.

'Hwaran' is an action noir depicting the story of Yeon-gyu (played by Hong Sa-bin), a boy who wants to escape from the hellish reality, meets the middle boss of an organization, Chi-geon (played by Song Joong-ki), and ends up in a dangerous world together. Song Joong-ki, who plays the role of Chi-gun, heralds a new and unprecedented transformation with a powerful character that has never been seen before.

After finishing filming 'Hwaran', Song Joong-ki said, "I thought it was a worthy work that must be made in Korean movies, and I am grateful to be able to participate in such a work. I wonder how the passionate passion on set was captured in the movie. “I have other expectations,” he said. That passionate passion is now expected to spread beyond Korea and around the world.

Above all, Song Joong-ki's entry into this year's Cannes Film Festival is even more meaningful as he has created all the characters in various movies and dramas in his own unique way, leading the topic. Song Joong-ki has been at the center of successive box office successes, including the Netflix film 'Victory', followed by the dramas 'Vincenzo' and 'The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family'. Among these, the film 'Dwarf' entered the Cannes Film Festival for the first time, further solidifying its influence and position.

'Hwaran' is scheduled to be released in theaters this year after its premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival, and Song Joong-ki is busy filming his next Netflix film 'Ro Ki-wan'.
