'Our Day' Cannes Film Festival sold out all seats before release
Director Hong Sang-soo's new film 'Our Day' was officially invited to the 76th Cannes International Film Festival Director's Week, and all seats were sold out before the premiere.

According to American media Variety on the 21st (local time), 'Our Day', which was officially invited to this year's Director's Week at the Cannes International Film Festival, is gaining popularity even before its premiere. All tickets for the premiere screening were sold out.

Also, several shipping companies are moving early to sign contracts. The French rights are owned by Capricci, the Spanish rights are owned by Ratalante Cinema, and the Greek rights are owned by Ama Films.

'Our Day' featured Ki Joo-bong, Kim Min-hee, Song Seon-mi, Park Miso, Ha Seong-guk, and Kim Seung-yoon. In particular, Kim Min-hee also made a name for herself as the head of the production department.

Cannes Directors' Week is a new section first established by the French Directors' Association in 1969 to introduce films differentiated from the existing Cannes Film Festival program. In the meantime, the selection tended to focus on discovering progressive and innovative films with excellent vision and modernity.

Cannes Directors' Week executive director Julien Rejl said, "I just watched director Hong Sang-soo's film. How he increases the power of simplicity and minimalism. Within the rooms of the two apartments, the film naturally handles all the joys of life." said.

"It was really beautiful to see Kim Min-hee talking about how she became a true actress. Director Hong Sang-soo shows clarity in parallel editing between the two characters talking about life lessons. This is a very humble way of asking questions about yourself. It's the way. I love the final shot of the movie. I was very moved. Director Hong Sang-soo is one of the greatest modern film directors."

The Cannes Director's Week runs from May 17th to May 26th. 'Our Day' will be released in Korea in the second half of this year after being released as a world premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival. Director Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee are appearing at overseas film festivals, not at official events in Korea. Indeed, attention is focused on whether the two will appear at the Cannes International Film Festival.
