Black 'Little Mermaid' worked in North America

While Disney's live-action musical film 'The Little Mermaid' was released in North America, it topped the box office on its first day of release.

'The Little Mermaid', which opened in 4320 theaters, is expected to earn between $120 million (about 159.4 billion won) and $130 million (about 172.6 billion won) over the weekend. It is predicted that it will rank third in all-time box office hits on Memorial Day, which continues until Monday ('Top Gun: Maverick' in first place, and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' in second place).

'The Little Mermaid' depicts the adventure of Ariel (Halle Bailey), an adventurous mermaid who dreams of a world beyond the sea, rescues Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King), who is in distress, and follows the sound of her heart to the forbidden human world. It's a story.

'The Little Mermaid' was embroiled in controversy over casting misses from the production stage. After opening, it is pointed out that it is excessive PC caution. It is not the essence of the film itself, but that it was intentionally exhibited by putting forward various races.

'The Little Mermaid', which was released in Korea on May 24, attracted a cumulative audience of 225,273. As of 3 p.m. on the 28th, the real-time reservation rate is 8.4%, and the number of reservation audiences is 44,939.
