"Kim Seon-ho issue cares NO" Kim Kang-woo, 22-year-old actor's unwavering comfort
'The Scion' Kim Kang-woo Interview

On the morning of the 19th, Kim Kang-woo started an interview about the movie 'The Scion' (director Park Hoon-jung) at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'The Scion' is about an unknown scion (Kim Seon-ho) in front of Marco (Kang Tae-joo), a boxer who wanders around illegal stadiums in the Philippines, as well as forces with different goals, Han Yi-sa (Kim Kang-woo), Yun-ju (Go Ara), etc. appears and captures the unfolding chase.
Kim Kang-woo takes on the role of the second generation of a heinous conglomerate in 'The Scion' and takes the main central axis of the play. The realistic and intense action was superbly digested. Regarding the role of Han Yi-sa, Kim Kang-woo said, "It is a character that cannot be played in modern society, and in a way, it does not exist in reality and cannot exist ."

“I know you discussed the gown with the director and the costume team a lot. They say it’s a good imported gown. I asked if I should wear slippers to shoot a rifle while wearing only a gown, but I was immediately rejected. Haha! It has to be.’ The director thinks a lot about masculinity.”
In addition, director Han's humor code explodes in an emergency situation in the play, but Kim Kang-woo revealed that he acted without any intention to be funny. “There are moments when humor makes people laugh. It’s funny when the wrong situation unfolds in a tense and solemn moment. I think it might have made me laugh when I acted."
Kim Kang-woo said , "I didn't pay much attention" to the issue of fellow actor Kim Seon-ho's private life when he was cast in 'The Scion'. In addition to this 'Scion', actress Seo Ye-ji, who worked together in the movie 'Memory of Tomorrow' (director Yu-min Seo), which was released in April 2021, was controversial about her private life. Regarding these issues, Kim Kang-woo seemed aloof. Kim Kang-woo, who made his debut in the 2002 movie 'Coastline', attracted attention by mentioning his life's attitude that he does not have to worry about heyday, as he is already walking the path of an actor for 22 years this year.

Kim Kang-woo, who said , "It's not always smooth," laughed , saying, "I was sensitive to these various issues in the past, but now it's not .
“Well, isn’t it my fault? I can’t avoid it just because I have to avoid it. I don’t think these things are anyone’s fault. I tend to refrain from thinking that I am going to make a point. I now have a far-sighted perspective.”
He said about Kim Seon-ho, "He had a lot of strengths. I didn't see the previous works, I only heard stories. Isn't it very sweet? I thought he was a friend who was good at acting in melodramas, but he was also very good at action. " He seems to have the ability to create his own character."
When asked about working with Kim Seon-ho and Kang Tae-joo, who made their film debut through 'The Scion', he said, " Career or age doesn't matter in the field."
"When I was acting, I excluded such thoughts. Compared to dramas and TV media, I thought there was no big difference between the scenes. However, compared to other movies, there were more scenes where people burned their bodies, so I was worried that I would get hurt before I was motivated. It was good to see him fighting."
Kim Kang-woo worked with directors Kim Seon-ho and Park Hoon-jung on two works in succession, from 'Scion' to 'Tyrant' (director Park Hoon-jung). 'Tyrant' also finished filming last April. In this regard, Kim Kang-woo expressed satisfaction.
"It's good. It's fun to work with an actor like Kim Seon-ho in a row. We had confrontations in 'The Scion', but in 'Tyrant' we're in a different way. Working together in 'Scion' helped a lot. Like this, the same director, the same director. I don’t think the experience of working on two projects in a row with an actor is something that can be done easily.”

'The Scion' will be released on June 21st.
