Actor Kim Soo-mi's Husband and Seo Hyo-rim's Father-in-law, Jeong Chang-kyu, Passes Away at 80

Jeong Chang-kyu, the husband of the late actress Kim Soo-mi and father-in-law of actress Seo Hyo-rim, has passed away at the age of 80.

According to family members, Jeong passed away at 1:11 PM on the 4th. This comes approximately 1 year and 7 months after the passing of his wife, Kim Soo-mi, in October 2024.

Jeong married Kim Soo-mi in 1974, and the couple had a son and a daughter. Their relationship reportedly began through an introduction by singer Jeong Hoon-hee. Kim Soo-mi once expressed her affection for her husband on a broadcast, stating, "He never questioned where I was going or if I was coming home late, and he never interfered with how I spent the money I earned."

Their son, Jeong Myung-ho, married actress Seo Hyo-rim in 2019.

The funeral will be held in Room 9 at Hanyang University Hospital Funeral Hall, with the service scheduled for 9:40 AM on the 6th. The burial will take place at Suwon City Crematorium.
