ADOR's Legal Battle: Court Approves Asset Seizure Against Former NewJeans Member and Ex-CEO
According to legal sources on the 29th, the court's Civil Division 58-1 granted ADOR's request on February 2nd. The asset seizure is a temporary measure to prevent debtors from hiding or disposing of their assets, allowing creditors to secure assets for potential future enforcement.
ADOR filed the asset seizure request on January 23rd against Danielle's mother, identified as Ms. A, and Min Hee-jin. The total claim amounts to approximately 7 billion KRW, with the court approving asset seizures up to 2 billion KRW for Ms. A and 5 billion KRW for Min Hee-jin.
Meanwhile, ADOR's legal representatives submitted a resignation notice to the court on the 24th, about three weeks before the first hearing scheduled for November 15th.
ADOR, a label under HYBE, is embroiled in a contract dispute with NewJeans members, having filed a lawsuit against Danielle in December last year for contract termination and damages amounting to 43 billion KRW. ADOR maintains that Danielle and Min Hee-jin are primarily responsible for the team's disbandment and delayed activities, seeking legal accountability.
The case is being handled by the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 31, presided over by Judge Nam In-soo, who previously partially accepted Min Hee-jin's claims in a separate put option-related lawsuit against HYBE.
