Veteran Actress Jeon Won-ju Reflects on Her Career and Connection with Actor Yoo Hae-jin
On the September 29th episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Perfect Life,' Jeon Won-ju shared, "After moving into my current home 30 years ago, my life turned around." While taking a walk in her neighborhood, Jeon reminisced, "I was always cast in roles like a maid, barmaid, or neighborhood lady. Wanting to succeed, I would look up at the mountain and pray, 'Please let Jeon Won-ju have her moment!'" When host Hyun Young asked how her life changed, Jeon replied, "After moving, I started earning money, and the commercial I shot became popular, leading to more CF opportunities."
During the walk, Jeon also mentioned, "Yoo Hae-jin lives in this neighborhood. His protruding lips resemble mine, so we played a 'mother and son' duo in a movie." When a photo from their film 'The Mayor and the District Leader' was shown, host Oh Ji-ho expressed surprise at their resemblance, saying, "They really look like they could be mother and son." Jeon humorously added, "I thought, 'People with protruding lips must have money.'"
Meanwhile, Jeon, now in her late 80s, confessed that she has been experiencing frequent memory lapses, saying, "I sometimes fail to recognize people, which leads to misunderstandings. I remember faces but not names, which worries me." She continued, "Recently, someone treated me to a meal, but I couldn't remember it, which was embarrassing. Now, I've developed a habit of taking notes." Jeon shared her efforts to prevent dementia, saying, "I'm concerned about becoming a burden to my children and those around me, so I engage in singing, dancing, and hiking."
