Trot Singer Kim Dae-sung Reunites with Mother After 42 Years
Trot singer Kim Dae-sung has shared the emotional story of reuniting with his biological mother after 42 years.

On the 15th episode of tvN's 'Lee Ho-sun Counseling Center,' aired on the 28th, Kim Dae-sung appeared and reflected on his past, growing up without knowing his mother's face. He revealed, "My mother gave birth to me from an unwanted pregnancy, and I was raised by my grandmother."

According to Kim, his parents met in a mining village. His father worked in the mines, and his mother was the daughter of a family running an inn. They had Kim without getting married, and his mother was reportedly around 16 years old at the time. Kim also learned a few years ago from his father that each of his three siblings had different mothers.

Upon discovering the truth about his birth, Kim began searching for his mother through television. He said, "Three days after sharing my story on KBS1's 'Morning Yard,' I received a call with a restricted number. At first, there was silence, but as we talked, I became convinced it was my mother."

The two eventually met once. Kim recalled that he gathered the courage to meet her during an event near the area where she runs a restaurant. He said, "I thought I would burst into tears upon seeing her, but when we finally met, I didn't cry." He added, "My mother thanked me for growing up well, but I couldn't bring myself to say I wanted to see her or visit my grandmother's grave together."

However, their communication did not continue. Kim explained, "My mother already had another family. She tried to keep her past a secret from her current husband, but I heard she accidentally revealed it after drinking." He added, "Her husband then restricted contact, fearing the emotional impact on their daughters, and asked me not to reach out."
