Actress Moon Ji-in and Comedian Kim Ki-ri Share Journey to Natural Pregnancy After IVF Struggles

Actress Moon Ji-in, who is married to comedian Kim Ki-ri, has opened up about her journey to achieving a natural pregnancy after experiencing IVF failures.

On the 25th, the YouTube channel 'Ji-in's Friends' featured a Q&A video with the couple, Kim Ki-ri and Moon Ji-in. They answered questions from subscribers, discussing their relationship, marriage, and the process of preparing for pregnancy.

Moon Ji-in, who previously suffered a miscarriage, recently succeeded in conceiving naturally and is expecting to give birth in August. She shared, "I got pregnant once early in our marriage but suffered a miscarriage. It was followed by a long period of waiting."

Moon Ji-in also shared her experiences with IVF. She stated, "I couldn't endure it and eventually stopped. IVF is not about overcoming but enduring." She added, "I think I failed about 12 times over almost a year, repeating natural pregnancy attempts, artificial insemination, and IVF. I underwent many tests, but the results weren't good, and I was exhausted."

Kim Ki-ri expressed the emotional toll, saying, "The impact was significant. It's not just one hit when you fail once. The time when you have to endure injections in the stomach for IVF, the dizziness, nausea, and the struggle afterward."

Moon Ji-in recalled, "I had to take six injections. During the last one, I felt nauseous and immediately went to the bathroom to vomit." Kim Ki-ri added, "If pregnancy doesn't occur, menstruation follows, and the pain was severe. The menstrual cramps and depression doubled, making it even harder. It accumulated over time."

Ultimately, the couple decided to stop IVF treatments and succeeded in conceiving naturally. They are expecting to welcome a new family member in August. Kim Ki-ri and Moon Ji-in tied the knot in 2024.
