AKMU's Lee Su-hyun Transforms Her Life Through 'Blossom Project'
On the 17th, Lee Su-hyun's YouTube channel featured a video titled 'All About Lee Su-hyun's Blossom Project,' showcasing her dramatic transformation journey.
In the video, Lee Su-hyun candidly shared, "I want to give up, but I won't," reflecting on her perseverance. She described the start of her diet not as an 'extreme decision' but as 'small changes.' "Initially, I didn't exercise and just ate my mom's cooking, but I lost 10kg over a year," she said, adding, "Changing my mindset was more important. The desire to wear pretty clothes again helped me recover gradually."
The dieting process was far from easy. Lee Su-hyun admitted, "I always hated it, felt annoyed, and it was unfair and frustrating. I rarely enjoyed exercising." She emphasized, "I believed that whether I did this or not would change my life."
She also faced plateaus. "It's really despairing when the numbers don't change despite hard work," she confessed. "That's when binge-eating urges hit," she added, but stressed, "It's important to keep going without overthinking."
She also changed her workout routine. "If I did strength training, I switched to cardio, and if I only did cardio, I mixed in other exercises. I combined dance and running," she revealed. "Running is twice as effective when combined with a diet," she emphasized.
Lee Su-hyun felt her transformation during her second pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago. "I felt much lighter, but also realized I still had a long way to go," she said. "I was proud to see my efforts actually making a difference."
Having successfully lost a total of 30kg and taken beautiful profile photos, Lee Su-hyun confessed, "I still can't fit into S sizes, and there are many M sizes I can't wear." She emphasized, "It's not about losing weight; it's about becoming someone who can take care of and discipline myself. That's what changed my life."
Lee Su-hyun reflected, "Two years ago, I thought I'd never change. Now, I feel a sense of atonement for the time I wasted. I won't waste my life, my time, or my youth anymore," she said. "I'm excited about my future. If I can do it, so can you," she encouraged.
