K-Pop Star Jun Jin and Ryu Yi-seo Share Their Journey Towards Parenthood

Jun Jin and Ryu Yi-seo have opened up about their earnest preparations for starting a family.

On the 9th, the YouTube channel 'My Love Ryu Yi-seo' released a video titled 'Jun Jin & Ryu Yi-seo's Baby Plans: How Far Have They Come? (In Full Pregnancy Preparation Mode)'.

In the video, the couple visited a gynecologist for a check-up. The fertility specialist shared positive news about Ryu Yi-seo's condition, stating, "Her ovarian function is exceptionally good for her age." The specialist added, "All basic health indicators are within normal range, although there is a slight increase in inflammation levels."

The couple also revealed detailed plans regarding IVF treatment. Ryu Yi-seo expressed her hopes, saying, "If we get a good embryo this time, we can retrieve it by mid-May." The specialist mentioned, "In that case, we can confirm the pregnancy about five weeks later, with the birth expected early next year."

However, the journey hasn't been entirely smooth. The couple faced challenges when the pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT-A) did not pass, making implantation difficult. They are now preparing for another egg retrieval using a short protocol.

Jun Jin asked cautiously, "Do you have a feeling whether it will be a boy or a girl?" The specialist replied, "I have a feeling it might be a girl," which brought a bright smile to Jun Jin's face. He shared, "I trust your intuition. Just imagining it makes me so happy."

Ryu Yi-seo also shared her efforts towards pregnancy. She said, "I've been living on a schedule for 20 years, but now I'm trying to live more regularly. I'm making an effort to go to bed early and wake up early." The medical team emphasized the importance of basic health management, including folic acid intake, maintaining a healthy weight, and regular lifestyle habits.

The role of the husband was also highlighted. The specialist noted, "Emotional support from the husband is crucial," to which Jun Jin responded, "It's been 270 days since I quit smoking," showing his commitment to supporting his wife.

Meanwhile, Shinhwa's Jun Jin and former flight attendant Ryu Yi-seo tied the knot in September 2020.
