Kim Eui-young Tops Poll as Most Desired Trot Singer for a Spring Performance at Daehangno
From March 30 to April 5, TenAsia conducted a poll asking, 'Which female trot singer would you like to enjoy a performance with on a warm spring day at Daehangno?' Kim Eui-young emerged as the winner.
Kim Eui-young first gained recognition in 2020 when she debuted as a trot singer by finishing in the TOP5 on TV Chosun's variety show 'Miss Trot 2.' In May of last year, she released her fourth single 'STARTrot PART.1,' produced by Kim Hyung-seok. The title track, 'Do Whatever You Want,' is a bright and cheerful dance trot song that highlights Kim Eui-young's refreshing charm.
Kim Da-hyun secured the second spot. She recently connected with fans through her solo concert 'Dream,' which began in Seoul and continued to venues like the Cheonma Art Center at Yeungnam University in Daegu. The concert at the Peace Hall of Kyung Hee University in Seoul was sold out, and the KBS Hall performance in Busan also saw all 3,300 seats filled, creating a spectacular scene. On stage, the growth journey of the 18-year-old high school singer Kim Da-hyun unfolded like a panorama. She started singing trot at the age of six after appearing on 'National Singing Contest' and has since made a name for herself in various competitions over 12 years.
Kim Yeon-ji took third place. Active in both trot and pop music, she recently announced the release of a new song with her group SeeYa. It has been 15 years since SeeYa filmed a music video as a complete group. In a video released on Nam Gyu-ri's YouTube channel, Kim Yeon-ji, Nam Gyu-ri, and Lee Bo-ram showed excitement and nervousness in the waiting room, but once filming began, they quickly displayed their familiar chemistry. Despite the long hiatus, their teamwork and genuine camaraderie filled the set.
Currently, on the Top Ten TenAsia website, polls are being conducted with themes such as 'Which female singer would you like to go spring clothes shopping with?', 'Which male singer would you like to go spring clothes shopping with?', 'Which female trot singer would you like to go spring clothes shopping with?', and 'Which male trot singer would you like to go spring clothes shopping with?'
