K-Pop Star Byul Opens Up About College Dropout Amidst Education Fraud Speculations

K-pop singer Byul has candidly addressed her college dropout status, preemptively tackling any potential education fraud allegations.

On October 2, Byul shared a video titled 'Honey, I'm Not Coming Home Today. Enjoying Some Free Time After a Month of Family Care | Hyehwa Daehangno, Theater Recommendations' on her YouTube channel 'Byul's Shining Tube.' In the video, Byul is seen enjoying a day out in Hyehwa Daehangno with actress Kim Ye-rang.

Kim Ye-rang, an alumna of Chung-Ang University's Theater and Film Department, mentioned, "During our time, Hyun Bin was a classmate. He's now a distant star," referencing her famous peers. She added, "The movie 'The King and the Clown' is currently a hit, and Jung Tae-woo, the original Danjong, and musical actor Hong Kwang-ho were also classmates."

Byul, a fan of Hong Kwang-ho, expressed, "I attended a women's university, so I had no male classmates," with a hint of regret. As a former student of Dongduk Women's University's Practical Music Department, Byul reminisced about her college days, saying, "Our campus was in Daehangno, so I spent my college life here. I was a student who attended classes and then disappeared because I was on the verge of debuting and had to be cautious about my behavior."

Passing by the Dongduk Women's University Performing Arts Center, Byul expressed nostalgia, saying, "This is my alma mater." She then openly admitted, "I didn't graduate. Let me be clear to avoid any misunderstandings about education fraud. I was expelled due to insufficient attendance." She further clarified, "I wasn't a special admission; I took the entrance exam and practical test to get in on my own merit, but I didn't graduate. My highest level of education is high school."

Byul married fellow singer HaHa in 2012, and the couple has two sons and a daughter.
