HYBE Strengthens Global Business with New Board Members from Media and Platform Sectors
On the 1st, HYBE held its regular shareholders' meeting and appointed Isaac Lee, Chairman and CEO of HYBE America, as an internal director. Additionally, former Walt Disney Company Senior Vice President Kevin Mayer was elected as an external director.
Isaac Lee, now an internal director, currently leads HYBE America, overseeing business operations across the United States and Latin America. This move aims to unify the decision-making structure between the headquarters and overseas bases, enhancing business execution in the North American and Latin markets. Lee plans to pursue a 'multi-home, multi-genre' strategy, focusing on securing diverse genres and artists centered around regional bases.
Kevin Mayer, the new external director, is recognized as a strategic expert in the global media industry. He served as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at the Walt Disney Company, where he spearheaded the launch of Disney+. Mayer later became the CEO of TikTok and co-founded Candle Media. HYBE anticipates that Mayer will enhance its platform business capabilities and provide expert opinions during investment and strategic alliance processes.
A HYBE representative stated, "With the addition of key experts from the global platform and media industries to our board, we expect HYBE's decision-making system to become more sophisticated." They added, "The collaboration led by Isaac Lee, who will drive close cooperation between the headquarters and overseas bases, and Kevin Mayer, who will manage strategic risks with his macro insights into the global platform business, will greatly contribute to HYBE's sustainable growth in the global market."
