Epik High's Tablo Shares Bilingual Parenting Tips for Daughter Haru

Tablo, a member of the hip-hop group Epik High, has revealed his unique approach to teaching his daughter Haru English, capturing the attention of many.

On October 31, a video titled 'Friendship? Love? Parenting? Life Advice Offered' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Tablo.' In the video, Tablo engages in a counseling session, reading and responding to subscribers' concerns.

One subscriber shared, "I'm seriously dating a British boyfriend. As I enter my 30s, I can't help but think about marriage and children. Although it's a future concern, I hope our children can be bilingual. How did you educate Haru in languages?"

In response, Tablo offered advice on bilingual education for children, saying, "Since your boyfriend speaks English and you are fluent in Korean, your child should have no problem becoming bilingual. However, you need to maintain a balance."

Notably, Tablo surprised many by revealing that he speaks to Haru only in English. He explained, "My wife speaks to Haru only in Korean, and I speak to her in English. There was a scene on 'The Return of Superman' where I spoke to Haru in English, and she said, 'Don't speak English.' At that time, Haru couldn't speak a word of English."

Tablo continued, "We started really late. I waited until Haru was ready to open up. Once she did, like all kids, she picked it up quickly. If you want your child to be bilingual, just divide the roles and communicate with them in that language."

Previously, Haru showcased her fluent English skills in February on the 'Epik High' YouTube channel, where she appeared with her voice, teaching trendy English words to her uncles. At the age of 16, Haru's mature voice and native-like English proficiency became a hot topic.

Meanwhile, Tablo debuted with Epik High in 2003 and married actress Kang Hye-jung six years later. In 2010, they welcomed their daughter Haru.
