Translator Hwang Seok-hee Deletes All Social Media Posts Amid Sexual Crime Allegations

Translator Hwang Seok-hee, who is embroiled in allegations of committing sexual crimes on three occasions, has deleted all posts from his social media accounts.

As of the 31st, Hwang's Instagram account shows that all previous posts have been removed, leaving only a recent statement he posted.

Hwang Seok-hee has been actively engaging with his followers by sharing his thoughts on films and introducing projects he has worked on. He has also been vocal about social issues and conducted live broadcasts. However, with the recent controversy bringing his past posts back into the spotlight, it appears he has decided to clear his social media due to the pressure.

On the 30th, a media outlet reported that Hwang Seok-hee had committed sexual crimes on three occasions. According to the report, he was charged twice for molesting and assaulting women on the street in 2005 and for sexual violence against a student in 2014. Although charges such as indecent assault causing injury and quasi-rape were applied, he reportedly received suspended sentences.

In response, Hwang stated on his social media, "I am currently reviewing the related matters with my lawyer. If there are inaccuracies, unverified information, or expressions beyond the legal judgment in the report, I will consider corrections and responses."
