On the 18th, Jung Sun-hee's YouTube channel 'Jung Sun-hee's Home' released a video titled 'A Work That Made Jung Sun-hee Cry. Recommended for Those Seeking the Meaning of Life! Interpretation and Review of 'The Dream of a Train'.' In the video, Jung Sun-hee reviewed the original novel of the Oscar-nominated film 'The Dream of a Train'.
Honest Reaction to Romantic Scenes?
Regarding the early romance of the protagonist Robert, she humorously commented, "Robert, who lived day by day, meets his wife, falls in love, gets married, and has a daughter. They even build a cabin in a pretty clearing they dreamed of during their dates. I wanted to skip that part. It was really annoying," causing laughter.
How Does 'The Dream of a Train' Express Loss?
A scene where Jung Sun-hee empathizes with the protagonist's grief after losing his family drew attention. She narrated Robert's story of searching for his wife and daughter after a natural disaster, saying, "Robert goes out with a blind determination to find them but is completely lost," and added, "He barely found a reason to live, and now that reason is gone."
She expressed, "The book's profound resonance lies in its subtle portrayal of grief. Losing a family member, especially a spouse or beloved child, is an unspeakable tragedy and sorrow," and continued, "The book doesn't focus on the weight of loss, which was shocking. It made me think this could be our life."
Jung Sun-hee's Reflections on Loss 16 Years Later
Jung Sun-hee further shared, "There's no time for a dramatic reaction to grief. In the face of survival, there's no room to stop and wail," and added, "Some can't even make a sound." She mentioned, "I used to love Harim's song 'Comfort'. It means that even in sorrow, we must live each day," and noted, "I received similar comfort from this book."
Previously, on the 17th, Jung Sun-hee appeared in a teaser for the tvN STORY's 'What to Do with What's Left'. Reflecting on her husband's passing, she said, "I thought my life was over," and shared, "I was told, 'It's horrifying to see you smile,' and 'How can you smile when several people around you have died?'"
Jung Sun-hee married actor Ahn Jae-hwan in November 2007 but was widowed just 10 months later.
