K-Pop Star Lee Jae Celebrates Oscar Win for 'Golden' from Netflix's 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'
On the 17th, Lee Jae shared a photo on his Instagram story, showing him clutching a golden trophy while lying on a bed, celebrating his achievement without any caption.
Previously, on the 15th (local time), Lee Jae was awarded the Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
'Golden' triumphed over strong contenders such as 'Dear Me' from 'Diane Never Dies', 'I Ride to You' from 'Sinners', 'Train Dreams' from 'Dreams of a Train', and 'Sweet Dreams of Joy' from 'Viva Verdi'.
Upon receiving the award, Lee Jae expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the Academy for this wonderful honor." He added, "Growing up, people teased me for liking K-pop. Now, we're all singing songs with Korean lyrics. I'm proud."
On the same night, 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' also won the Best Animated Feature, making it a double victory. Lee Jae performed 'Golden' alongside Audrey Nuna and Ray Ami in a celebratory stage performance.
