Korean Broadcaster Ahn Young-mi Supports Petition for Stricter Child Abuse Penalties
Korean broadcaster Ahn Young-mi has shown her support for a petition advocating for stricter penalties for child abuse, in memory of the so-called 'Haedun Incident.'

On October 9th, Ahn Young-mi shared a photo on her Instagram story with the caption, "Please... let our intentions be heard." The photo revealed her agreement with a petition related to strengthening child abuse penalties, which is connected to the tragic 'Haedun Death Incident.'

Previously, the SBS program 'Unanswered Questions' covered the case of a 4-month-old infant, referred to as Haedun, who died in Yeosu, South Korea, in October last year. The biological mother had called for help, claiming the child had fallen in the bathtub and was not breathing. Unfortunately, the 69cm tall infant was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death as hemorrhagic shock and organ failure due to multiple traumas. Home surveillance footage captured dull thuds and the baby's cries repeatedly, along with the mother's voice shouting, "I'll kill you."

Prosecutors have charged the mother with child abuse and murder, while the father is detained on charges of child abuse and neglect.

Meanwhile, Ahn Young-mi, who is 44 years old, recently announced on her radio show that she is expecting her second child, surprising many listeners with the news. "Today's topic is the moment of birth. There's a reason I chose this topic unexpectedly. I'm pregnant with my second child," she shared, receiving many congratulations.
