Peponi Music Announces Legal Action Against Stalker of Jannabi's Choi Jung-hoon

Peponi Music, the agency representing the band Jannabi, has announced the legal outcome against an individual who has been stalking and committing sexual offenses against artist Choi Jung-hoon for an extended period.

On the afternoon of the 6th, Peponi Music shared via their official social media that the legal case against the malicious perpetrator, who invaded Choi Jung-hoon's personal space and surroundings, has been finalized.

According to the agency, the perpetrator repeatedly posted secret comments containing death threats, demands for private meetings, and abusive language on Choi Jung-hoon's Naver blog 'Jeongchun' hundreds of times. The individual also engaged in unilateral stalking by visiting the vicinity of the agency to make their presence known.

In response, Peponi Music, represented by the law firm Hanjung, filed charges for 'Violation of the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes' and 'Violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (using communication media for obscene acts)' due to the posting of sexually humiliating texts and photos.

During the investigation, the perpetrator was identified, and temporary measures such as a restraining order were implemented to protect the victim. The court has finalized a sentence of a 5 million won fine and mandated participation in a stalking treatment program for the perpetrator.

A representative from the agency stated, "This action serves as a stern warning to the perpetrator who has continuously inflicted mental distress on the artist by invading their personal space," and emphasized, "We will continue to respond strongly without any compromise or leniency to any acts that infringe on the artist's personal rights, such as defamation, insults, or the spread of false information."

Additionally, the agency is actively monitoring and documenting malicious posts through fan reports and internal monitoring, ensuring that the artist can focus on their activities in a stable environment.
