Choi Jun-hee Clarifies Inheritance Rumors Amid Family Dispute
Last year, Choi Jun-hee uploaded a video titled 'Jun-hee's Honest Q&A' on her YouTube channel 'Jun-hee.' In the video, she expressed her ultimate goal of moving to New York, saying, "If I work hard as a model and succeed in my current business ventures, I want to immigrate to New York."
Choi candidly addressed the rumors, saying, "To be honest, many people mistakenly believe that I have a lot of money thanks to my parents. But that's not true at all, and I receive a salary just like everyone else," denying the rumors of a multi-billion inheritance.
The resurfacing of these comments comes after Choi Jin-sil's mother recently shared a different perspective. In July 2023, Choi Jun-hee claimed on her social media that her grandmother had interfered with her share of the inheritance when she was a minor, leading to a family rift. She emphasized that the issue was more about trust being broken due to alleged embezzlement rather than financial matters.
On October 5, a YouTube channel released a video titled 'Shocking Exclusive! "Grandmother Took My Money - The Truth Behind Choi Jin-sil's 30 Billion Inheritance." In the video, Choi Jin-sil's mother addressed the widespread '30 billion inheritance' rumor, stating, "I want to correct the parts that are not true."
According to Choi Jin-sil's mother, the actress left behind approximately 1.5 billion won in liquid assets at the time of her death. However, these assets quickly diminished due to advertising penalties, legal fees, and income taxes. She explained that the only remaining assets were two real estate properties, which were equally inherited by Choi's son, Choi Hwan-hee, and daughter, Choi Jun-hee. She clarified that she holds no stake in these properties, expressing her desire to pass on her daughter's legacy to her grandchildren.
Choi Jun-hee, born in 2003, is the daughter of the late actress Choi Jin-sil and former professional baseball player Cho Sung-min. She is active as an influencer, engaging with her audience through social media. Choi is set to marry a non-celebrity 11 years her senior in May.
