Moon Sang-min, who had previously received lukewarm reviews for his acting, is now making a significant impact as an actor. With back-to-back successes in both film and television, he is receiving positive feedback for his character interpretations, marking a shift in his career trajectory.

Debuting in 2019, Moon Sang-min is now an 8-year veteran in the industry. Despite leading roles in dramas like 'Shuroop', 'Wedding Impossible', and 'Cinderella at 2 AM', his acting had not been distinctly recognized. Critics noted that his character portrayals were somewhat flat compared to his stable appearance and star quality.

However, the recent releases of the Netflix film 'Pavane' and KBS2 drama 'Beloved Thief' have turned the tide. 'Pavane', a project by Go Ah-sung and director Lee Jong-pil since 2017, marks Moon's first lead role in a film. The casting process for the male lead was challenging, and Moon joined the project eagerly upon receiving the offer.

In an interview, Moon expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, "I was eager when I first received the offer." He further explained his character interpretation, stating, "I immersed myself to the point where people said Moon Sang-min loved Go Ah-sung." Go Ah-sung also recalled her excitement upon hearing about Moon's casting, saying, "I felt like I had been waiting for you." Moon's performance in 'Pavane' has been praised for showcasing his pure and deep acting abilities.

After seven years of planning and production, 'Pavane' achieved significant success, ranking 7th in Netflix's non-English film category shortly after its release. The film's emotional depth received acclaim, with positive reactions to the actors' performances, including Moon's, who displayed a new dimension in his first film lead role.

Moon Sang-min's drama 'Beloved Thief' also performed well, achieving a peak rating of 7.7%, a notable feat amid KBS's weekend drama struggles. He ranked 4th in drama cast buzz, solidifying his status as a rising star among male actors in their 20s.

Additionally, Moon is expanding his reach by appearing in the music video for singer Lee Young-ji's new song 'ROBOT'. With continuous appearances in films, dramas, and music videos, he is maintaining a steady presence this year.

Moon Sang-min is gradually building his skills and gaining recognition. There is growing interest in how he will expand his range in future projects.
