Korean Star Jung Jae-hyung Embarks on Farewell Trip with Longtime Manager
On November 1, the YouTube channel 'Fairy Jae-hyung' released a video titled 'We Need to Talk.' In the video, Jung Jae-hyung sets off on a 'farewell trip' with his manager Kim Eun-jung, who has been by his side for many years. Jung expressed, "It's rare to go on a farewell trip. It feels like something out of a movie. I'm grateful, but it's also a bit overwhelming knowing that Eun-jung is leaving."
The video opens with the statement, "I am about to part ways with Jung Jae-hyung." At Phuket Airport, Jung Jae-hyung was joined by 2PM's Jang Woo-young, who has been close to both Jung and Kim for about a year and a half. Jang took on the role of 'farewell mediator,' hoping to ease the awkwardness between the two. He said, "I hope to help them have a warm time together."
Kim Eun-jung, who aspires to become a 'pre-show MC,' explained his decision to leave, saying, "I thought to myself, 'I should stay for at least two years.' But then, hyung (Jung Jae-hyung) brought it up first." Jung recalled asking him last year, "Don't you think you should take a chance?" and jokingly added, "I asked, 'How long are you going to stay?' because I thought he might quit first, so I brought it up."
Kim's ultimate goal is to become a 'pre-show MC.' He stated, "I don't have grand dreams of becoming someone like Yoo Jae-suk. The joy of getting a reaction on the spot is greater than seeing edited footage."
Jung reflected on his career, noting, "I've probably had over ten managers. It's a job filled with meetings and farewells, so I've learned to stay strong. But Eun-jung knew everyone around me, both celebrities and non-celebrities. I've never had a manager I was this close to."
Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "It wasn't perfect over the three and a half years, but I'm thankful for the sincerity." Jung, in a heartfelt letter, reassured Kim, "I'm not worried about you. You'll do well. Don't give up, and don't be swayed by invisible fears. Walk your path humbly. But if it gets too tough, you can always come back. I'm your supportive backer, Jung Jae-hyung."
