The production team of Disney+'s 'Fate War 49' has issued another official apology following backlash over inappropriate content that was deemed disrespectful to fallen heroes.

On the 24th, the production team released an official statement expressing their condolences and respect to the families of the deceased featured in 'Fate War 49.' They stated, "We sincerely apologize to the fallen heroes, their families who may have been hurt, their colleagues, and everyone concerned by the inappropriate language and depictions that appeared during a fortune-telling segment by a shaman who was unaware of the deceased."

The production team also mentioned that they are currently in communication with the families. They explained, "We are listening to the families' stories, apologizing for not being considerate beforehand, and are working towards a resolution."

They promised to prevent such incidents from happening again. The team stated, "We will pay more careful attention to the overall production process in the future and strengthen our internal review and production processes. We deeply apologize once again."

The controversy arose from a recently aired episode of 'Fate War 49,' where a mission involved guessing the cause of death of the deceased. During a fortune-telling session, inappropriate expressions and depictions regarding a fallen hero were pointed out. Additionally, host Jun Hyun-moo used the term "stabbed" without filtering, which sparked further controversy. Other hosts, including Park Na-rae and Shin Dong, also reacted in a way that was seen as disrespectful to the fallen heroes, causing discomfort among viewers. The remarks were considered hurtful to the families and colleagues of the deceased, leading to increased scrutiny on the show's future direction and follow-up actions.

The production team had previously issued an apology on the 20th. They addressed the controversy over family consent, stating, "Before filming, we explained to the families that the program is a survival format featuring fortune-tellers and involves highlighting the fate of the deceased through their horoscopes. We obtained written consent to use the deceased's portrait, name, and birth details. A moment of silence was observed on set to honor the deceased." They added, "We later learned that some family members and relatives were informed about the consent process only after the broadcast. We sincerely apologize to the hurt families and fellow firefighters."
