Korean TV Host Jun Hyun-moo Apologizes for Controversial Remarks on Disney+ Show
Jun Hyun-moo, a popular South Korean TV host, has issued an apology following backlash over his use of the term "stabbed" in reference to a fallen police officer on the Disney+ variety show 'Fate War 49'. This comes shortly after Jun was embroiled in the 'Injection Aunt' controversy.

On the 23rd, Jun's agency, SM C&C, released a statement expressing deep regret for the hurt caused to the deceased officer's family by the language used on the show. "Regardless of the context, we should have been more cautious when mentioning the deceased," the statement read.

The agency further explained, "In the process of summarizing the cast's remarks, certain words were repeated without fully considering their appropriateness. We take this matter seriously and apologize to the deceased and their family. We also extend our apologies to all viewers who were discomforted by the broadcast. We will ensure stricter standards and accountability to prevent future occurrences."

The controversy arose during the second episode of 'Fate War 49', released on the 11th, when a shaman on the show speculated about the cause of death of a police officer who died in the line of duty. The shaman referred to the officer's stabbing as "stabbed," to which Jun Hyun-moo responded, "A uniformed officer was 'stabbed'. That's too direct." Fellow cast member Shindong also agreed with the choice of words.

In response, the National Police Labor Union issued a strong condemnation, promising firm action. The union criticized the show for trivializing the noble sacrifice of a public servant with vulgar slang and using it as entertainment.

Jun Hyun-moo was also caught up in the 'Injection Aunt' controversy. A figure known as 'Injection Aunt' A, who was accused of illegal medical practices, posted and then deleted a message seemingly targeting Jun. Jun's representatives have repeatedly denied any connection to A.

The controversy resurfaced when a scene from 'I Live Alone' showing Jun receiving an IV drip in a car was revisited. However, SM C&C clarified that the treatment was legal and prescribed by medical professionals, even releasing medical records to prove there was no illegal procedure or private medical call involved. It was also revealed that Jun had been prescribed medication for erectile dysfunction.

Jun Hyun-moo, who has faced criticism for both the inappropriate language regarding a fallen officer and the 'Injection Aunt' controversy, must be more aware of the impact of his words and actions as a public figure.
