Actress Son Tae-young Praises New Jersey's Snow Removal Despite High Taxes
On the 21st, the YouTube channel 'Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young' released a video titled 'Special Galbi-jjim Recipe That Our Whole Family Enjoyed (Son Tae-young Vlog)'.
In the video, Son Tae-young headed to a brunch cafe with her English teacher, Julia. While driving, she commented, "It snowed a lot, up to my knees, but they cleared it all in a day. New Jersey's taxes are a bit high, but they cleared the roads quickly," expressing her satisfaction.
Son Tae-young added, "In New Jersey, as soon as it starts snowing, the snow plows come out. I don't feel like the taxes are wasted." She also mentioned, "If you drive with snow on your car's hood after a snowfall, the police will stop you because it can be dangerous for other drivers. That's why you rarely see cars with snow on them."
New Jersey is often described in the media as having the highest taxes in the U.S. The state has a tax structure that includes income, property, and sales taxes, with property taxes being among the highest in the nation. The income tax is progressive, with high earners paying over 10% of their total income.
Meanwhile, Son Tae-young attended her son's school event in a hanbok, promoting Korean culture. She married actor Kwon Sang-woo in 2008, and they have a son and a daughter. Currently, she resides in the U.S. for her children's education.
