Shinhwa's Kim Dong-wan Reiterates Stance on Legalizing Prostitution Amid Controversy
On the 20th, Kim Dong-wan took to his social media to express his concerns, stating, "What I am worried about is the influx of minors, lack of disease control, and exploitation within illegal structures." He added, "Ignoring reality without protection and management can be seen as avoiding responsibility while speaking of morality." This statement comes as he reiterates his views on the legalization of prostitution.
Previously, on the 17th, Kim Dong-wan argued for the legalization of prostitution, saying, "In trying to eliminate entertainment districts, the entire country is becoming one. Seeing entertainment districts in front of churches, schools, and police stations raises questions."
He emphasized, "We need to acknowledge and manage it. Given the increasing number of single-person households, we cannot simply ignore it with the logic of 'just cover it up.'" Furthermore, he stated, "The reason I believe it should be legalized is that there are people who cannot do without paying. It's also a matter of disease control," placing him at the center of controversy.
