Hwang Hee-jung Addresses Allegations of Misconduct in Vehicle Service Controversy
On February 19, Hwang Hee-jung took to her social media to express her regret over the recent controversy, stating, "I apologize for causing concern." She announced that she has filed a lawsuit against the vehicle service company for defamation and fraud, and has sent a correction request to the media outlet involved. The lawsuit was filed on February 19, 2026.
Hwang's side claims that the controversy stems from malicious slander by the company after their contract ended. The contract involved an exchange of player image rights for vehicle services at no cost, and the partnership was mutually terminated in October 2025 after issues were identified.
Hwang Hee-jung has denied allegations of exploiting free services and misconduct. She stated that family vehicle services were part of the official contract, and no unreasonable demands were made. She also refuted claims of requesting a 'supercar.'
Regarding a vehicle accident, Hwang apologized again and confirmed that insurance was handled according to the contract. She claimed the accident's scale was exaggerated but acknowledged responsibility and promised to ensure safe driving in the future.
Previously, Hwang Hee-chan and Hwang Hee-jung were accused of making unreasonable demands after an accident involving a luxury vehicle provided by the service company.
Meanwhile, Hwang Hee-jung is currently appearing on the SBS variety show 'Kick a Goal.'
Below is the full statement from Hwang Hee-jung:
Hello, this is Hwang Hee-jung.
I sincerely apologize for the concern caused by the recent controversy as the head of the agency.
To address this matter, we have taken legal action to prevent malicious slander. We have provided representative examples and supporting documents to clarify the facts.
[Lawsuit Filed (February 19, 2026)]
- Filed a lawsuit against the vehicle service company for 'defamation and fraud.'
- Sent a correction request to 'Dispatch.'
- We will hold those attempting malicious slander against public figures legally accountable.
[Cause of Controversy, Reason for Ending Partnership]
The controversy arose from malicious slander by the company after the contract ended in August 2025.
The contract involved an exchange of 'player image rights' for 'vehicle services' at no cost. We identified the following issues and mutually agreed to end the partnership in October 2025:
1) Concealment of the company's closure (March 2025)
2) Financial instability: unpaid wages, CEO's personal debt issues
3) Unauthorized use of player image rights (used car sales, investment attraction)
4) Company's CEO's past criminal record
[Correction of False Information and Supporting Evidence]
1. Allegations of exploiting free services and misconduct
Family vehicle services were part of the official contract. There were no unreasonable demands or misconduct. We provide supporting documents to clarify this.
2. Use of vehicle services
There was no 'supercar request.' The accident during operation was handled with repeated apologies and insurance processing according to the contract. The company exaggerated the accident's scale by including 'victim accidents,' but we deeply reflect on the occurrence and will ensure safe driving in the future.
3. Promotional obligations
We have communicated closely with the company to fulfill promotional obligations. There was no neglect of communication or avoidance of agreed commitments.
I am deeply sorry for causing distress to those who support us due to unnecessary controversy. We will resolve all suspicions transparently through legal means.
February 19, 2026
Sincerely, Hwang Hee-jung
