Having transitioned from actor to painter, Park Shin-yang currently uses an apartment in Andong as his studio. He shared, "For 10 years, I've done nothing but paint and sleep. I only watch art channels on YouTube," describing his monk-like simple lifestyle.

Reflecting on his acting days, Park Shin-yang said, "All I remember is working extremely hard. I worked day and night with utmost seriousness, and I broke my spine four times," adding, "I never dreamed of popularity or fame."

When asked if he ever suffered from 'celebrity syndrome', Park Shin-yang admitted, "I had tough times. Many people recognized me outside, seeing me as the character from 'Lovers in Paris'. They would ask, 'Why is Han Ki-joo dressed casually?'"

In response to fans' wishes to see him in films and dramas again, Park Shin-yang said, "How can I promise that? If a script with a good message or story comes along, I'll consider it."

Currently holding an exhibition, Park Shin-yang explained why he doesn't sell his paintings: "When I acted, many people could see and feel my efforts. The biggest drawback of painting is that not everyone can see it. It's not about selling; it's about showing it first."

He added, "I believe art gains meaning when it evokes emotions in viewers. If I show and sell at the same time, it immediately becomes 'How much is it?' Instead, I want to talk about why I painted it and what I felt."

I made it that way because I didn't have time."
