Actor Jang Dong-joo, who mysteriously disappeared last October, has confessed to being a victim of phone hacking.

On the 29th, Jang Dong-joo took to his social media to share, "It was a day last summer. A call from an unknown number. A man who knew my exact movements. His voice is still vivid in my mind," he began.

He continued, "My phone was completely hacked. Then came the threats. From that day until today, every single day has been hell. The man demanded things I could never do, and I had no choice but to follow his instructions precisely," revealing the extent of the hacking ordeal.

Jang Dong-joo disclosed that he lost a significant amount of money due to this, stating, "I borrowed money by any means necessary. My family even sold their house for me. The sudden debt led to more debt, and the unpaid debt created even more debt. We lost billions, and my family suffered while I was buried under a mountain of debt."

In conclusion, Jang Dong-joo expressed, "I don't know if the secret was kept, but I couldn't protect anything. I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt and affected because of me. If you trust and wait for me, I will work hard to repay every single cent."

Previously, in October last year, Jang Dong-joo posted a photo with a black background and the words "I'm sorry" on his social media before disappearing. At the time, his agency, Nexus E&M, stated, "We have lost contact with him," but later confirmed, "We have located Jang Dong-joo. Fortunately, it's not a bad situation. We apologize for causing concern."

A month later, in November, Jang Dong-joo explained, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern due to personal circumstances that made it difficult to stay in touch. I needed some time to sort things out due to various reasons."
