Cha Eun-woo Faces $200 Million Tax Evasion Allegations; Daesung MyMac Pulls Ads
On the 27th, TenAsia confirmed that Daesung MyMac made Cha Eun-woo's advertisement video private on their official social media. The video, which was prominently featured at the top of their page earlier in the day, is now unavailable, displaying a message that reads 'This video is unavailable.'
As the controversy over Cha Eun-woo's alleged tax evasion grew, several beauty and financial brands he was associated with halted their advertisements or removed related content. Daesung MyMac, however, kept his advertisement up until the afternoon, when it was suddenly made private around 3 PM.
Fantagio, Cha Eun-woo's agency, commented on the allegations, stating, "The main issue is whether the corporation established by Cha Eun-woo's mother is subject to actual taxation." They added, "The matter is not yet finalized or officially notified, and we plan to actively clarify the legal interpretation and application through appropriate procedures."
Cha Eun-woo also addressed the situation on his social media on the 26th, saying, "I will sincerely participate in the upcoming tax-related procedures. I will humbly accept the final judgment from the relevant authorities and take responsibility accordingly."
