Actress Hwang Shin-hye Pays Tribute to Late Actor Ahn Sung-ki
Actress Hwang Shin-hye has paid tribute to the late actor Ahn Sung-ki.
Hwang Shin-hye shared on her Instagram, "Rest in peace," adding, "The time I spent making films with you on the same set, in front of the same camera, was a great honor in my life."
She continued, "Thank you for being a pillar of Korean cinema for such a long time," and added, "I will never forget the moments we shared." She concluded with, "I hope you find peace there," and "I sincerely respected you. May you rest in peace," while posting a photo from a project they worked on together.

Ahn Sung-ki passed away on the morning of the 5th at the age of 74. He collapsed at home on December 30th last year while eating, with food lodged in his throat. Despite receiving CPR and being rushed to a nearby hospital's emergency room, he was admitted to the ICU but never regained consciousness.
It was revealed that he had been battling blood cancer until his death. Diagnosed in 2019, he was declared cancer-free in 2020 after treatment, but the disease relapsed six months later during follow-up.

His funeral will be held as a film industry ceremony, organized by the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation and the Korean Film Actors Association. Honorary funeral committee members include Shin Young-kyun, director Bae Chang-ho, Korean Film Actors Association Chairman Lee Gap-sung, Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation Acting Director Shin Eon-sik, and Korean Film Association Chairman Yang Yoon-ho. Additionally, actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung will serve as pallbearers. The wake is being held at Room 31 of the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Funeral Hall, with the funeral service scheduled for 6 a.m. on the 9th. The burial site will be at Byeolgeurida in Yangpyeong.
