aespa's Winter Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Comments Amid Dating Rumors with BTS's Jungkook
On the 10th, Winter's agency, SM Entertainment, released an official statement acknowledging the seriousness of the ongoing malicious posts and comments targeting their artist. These include sexual harassment, defamation, personal attacks, insults, privacy invasion, and deepfake content.
SM Entertainment stated that they have identified numerous posts and comments on platforms such as DC Inside, Women's Generation, Nate Pann, Instiz, The Qoo, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube that defame Winter's character and honor. They are continuously collecting and analyzing these posts and plan to expand their legal actions in stages.
The agency also mentioned that criminal and civil lawsuits are underway against those who have posted malicious content related to aespa on the mentioned platforms. They emphasized that they have gathered sufficient evidence against those creating malicious rumors, spreading false information, posting sexually harassing content, and producing and distributing mocking or distorted content on personal social media, online communities, and anonymous boards. SM Entertainment is committed to responding strongly without leniency.
Recently, dating rumors between Winter and Jungkook surfaced, but neither party has issued a statement regarding the speculation.
