Actor Park Si-hoo Takes Legal Action Against Defamatory Rumors
On the 21st, Law Firm Hyemyung, representing Park Si-hoo, released an official statement saying, "In August, Park Si-hoo filed a complaint against the suspect who posted and spread malicious false information on his social media for violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation), and the investigation is currently underway."
Park Si-hoo's representatives emphasized, "The claim that 'Actor Park Si-hoo introduced a woman to a married man, leading to a family breakdown' is a clear falsehood and unfounded."
Previously, a woman identified as A posted on her social media, "Park Si-hoo, when our family lived in UN Village, you called me sister-in-law, but you introduced a woman to Mr. Hwang since 2020. You should have stopped." She also shared text message conversations, leading to suspicions that Park Si-hoo had been arranging meetings between a married man and women, causing a family breakdown.
In response, Park Si-hoo's side stated, "The incident began when the suspect entered her ex-husband's house, stole a mobile phone, and maliciously edited and distorted various stored conversations and photo files to post on social media." They added, "The suspect's ex-husband also filed a complaint, and recently, the police acknowledged the charges of defamation and forwarded the case to the prosecution."
Furthermore, Park Si-hoo's representatives stated, "The investigative agency confirmed that the suspect's posts were false or distorted. Since the posts about the ex-husband and actor Park Si-hoo are based on the same context and materials, it is clear that the charges in Park Si-hoo's case will also be acknowledged."
Finally, Park Si-hoo's side warned, "Our law firm will respond firmly without any leniency or settlement to baseless rumors and malicious slander that seriously damage actor Park Si-hoo's reputation. We will continue to track and hold accountable those responsible for creating and spreading fake news and false information online."
