Actress Lee Yo-won Reflects on Early Marriage at 24: 'I Wouldn't Do It Again'
On the 18th, a video titled 'Kids Stay Away. Liberation Camping with Parenting Comrades. Lee Yo-won Cries' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Lee Min-jung MJ'.
In the video, Lee Min-jung embarked on a 'parenting liberation camping' trip with her parenting comrades, expressing her disbelief, "I can't believe I can grill meat without the kids," eliciting laughter.
During a conversation about children, Lee Min-jung asked Lee Yo-won, "How old were you when you had your first child?" To which Lee Yo-won replied, "I had my first child at 24." Curious, Lee Min-jung asked, "Would you marry young again if you could go back?"
As a mother of three, Lee Yo-won honestly responded, "No, if I could go back, I wouldn't get married at 24. While there are regrets as an actress, as a woman, I don't think there's a need to marry early unless you really want to."
Lee Min-jung noted, "These days, people marry much later," and an acquaintance commented, "Isn't the advantage that you have raised them and they are like friends?" Lee Yo-won emphasized, "It's not about marriage, but having children early."
Regarding conversations with her husband, she revealed, "My husband enjoys gossiping about others. Initially, I disliked talking about others, but he felt disappointed when I didn't join in."
She added, "I'm a T (thinking type), so I don't empathize easily, but when I started empathizing, he liked it. Now, when I overreact, he stops."
Meanwhile, Lee Yo-won married businessman Park Jin-woo, a former professional golfer six years her senior, in 2003. They have one son and two daughters.
