Park Bom's Controversial Social Media Posts Stir Concerns Over Mental Health
In the early hours of the 23rd, Park Bom shared on her social media, "Park Bom. I'm angry but too tired to start anything. I hope everyone is happy," along with three screenshots of notes she had written. The notes contained criticisms directed at YG, though some of the claims seemed unfounded.
In her notes, she stated, "They made my appearance look ridiculous. Because they were mocking me. Thinking back, YG never paid for my surgeries. I paid for a couple myself. In short, I went on stage looking like a commoner." She continued, "Once, they suddenly apologized to me on the stairs. When I asked why, they said they had used me as a topic for plastic surgery. Thinking back, they never did anything for me. I went to the dermatologist, but I ended up paying for it myself."
She also claimed, "I wrote all the YG songs. They locked me up and made me write all the songs except one. But they didn't pay me, and you can't find my name in the credits." She raised issues about financial settlements and rights, adding, "Even if I sang my heart out, it was just breaking even. So far, 4,321 CFs came in, but they gave them all to someone else. 61 came in under my name this time, but they gave them all to someone else. What about me?" The post was soon deleted.
Previously, on the 22nd, Park Bom shared a photo of a complaint form on social media, listing Yang Hyun-suk as the defendant and mentioning astronomical figures. She announced her intention to sue Yang for fraud and embezzlement.
In response, Park Bom's agency, D-Nation Entertainment, stepped in to address the situation. The agency stated, "The financial settlements related to Park Bom's activities with 2NE1 have already been completed, and the complaint form uploaded on social media has not been filed." They added, "Park Bom has halted all activities to focus on treatment and recovery. We are doing our best to ensure the artist regains her health."
Given the content of Park Bom's social media posts over the past two days, it is evident that her mental state appears to be quite unstable. This has led to calls for intensive treatment for Park Bom. However, despite the agency's statement that she is focusing on treatment and recovery, the recurrence of such incidents raises questions about the adequacy of the measures being taken for her treatment.
YG Entertainment is not expected to issue an official response to this matter.
