Actress Lim Ji-yeon Removes Controversial Instagram Post Amid Backlash

Actress Lim Ji-yeon has responded to public opinion.

Recently, Lim Ji-yeon posted several photos of herself in a golden dress on her Instagram, accompanied by a heart emoji. The outfit was worn at the 'Love Your W 2025' event hosted by fashion magazine 'W Korea' at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on the 15th.

However, as the event became controversial, some netizens left negative comments on Lim's social media, urging her to "take down the post" and questioning "why she would post photos from a controversial event." In contrast, other netizens defended her, stating, "I was there, and Lim Ji-yeon left earlier than Park Eun-bin," and "Lim Ji-yeon left during dinner and didn't attend the after-party."

Acknowledging the debate, Lim Ji-yeon has since removed the golden dress photos from her Instagram.

Previously, 'W Korea' held the '20th W Korea Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity Event' on that day. The event was attended by notable actors such as Lee Young-ae, Ha Jung-woo, Lee Min-ho, Go Hyun-jung, Im Soo-jung, Jung Ryeo-won, Park Eun-bin, Lee Chae-min, Jung Hae-in, and Byun Woo-seok. Idol groups like IVE, aespa, BTS members J-Hope, V, and RM, All Day Project, ILLIT, and Kiki were also present.

However, after the event, the magazine's official social media only posted videos of celebrities drinking and partying, rather than listening to the voices of breast cancer patients or survivors, which drew criticism from netizens.

On the 19th, the magazine issued an apology on its official website, stating, "The event on the 15th was criticized for not aligning with the campaign's purpose. We take this seriously." They continued, "We deeply apologize for not considering the perspectives of breast cancer patients and their families, causing discomfort and hurt. We regret any inconvenience caused to those who participated with good intentions."

Meanwhile, Lim Ji-yeon is publicly dating actor Lee Do-hyun, who is five years her junior and whom she met through Netflix's 'The Glory.' Lee Do-hyun completed his military service in the Air Force Band and was discharged in May 2023.
