Composer and Singer EJAE Reveals K-Pop Artists She Wants to Collaborate With
Composer and singer EJAE has revealed the K-pop artists she dreams of collaborating with.

On the October 13th broadcast of KBS Cool FM's 'Lee Eun-ji's Music Plaza,' EJAE, who performed the part of the protagonist Lumi in the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (referred to as 'Kedeheon') OST 'Golden,' shared various stories.

During the show, EJAE confessed, "I've always had a complex about my voice. As a trainee for over 10 years, I worried that my voice was too low and dark. I often felt insecure because it wasn't a pretty voice, but I'm really grateful for the love I've received."

She also shared how she became involved in the 'Kedeheon' OST project. "Even before the script was out, I joined the project thanks to a friend. We worked together from the beginning to figure out how to create the sound for key scenes," she said. "There aren't many Korean animations, so I wanted to be part of it even more. I wanted to show the best results by giving it my all."

Regarding the high notes added to express Lumi's desperation, she said, "The notes are unrealistically high, but they were necessary to convey the character's emotions. However, I ended up singing them myself, which was quite a burden," she laughed. She added, "If I had known I would sing it, I wouldn't have made it so high," bringing laughter to the studio.

She also revealed, "The director personally requested me to sing, which helped me gradually regain my confidence. I was grateful for the opportunity when I started composing, but I was overwhelmed with emotions and even cried during the demo recording. During tough times, my own song comforted me."

EJAE mentioned various artists' cover videos of 'Golden.' She praised, "I saw the video of Ahn Hyo-seop singing. I heard he was a JYP trainee, and it shows. He did so well." She also expressed gratitude, "Bada's version was wonderful, and she even reached out to me." EJAE added, "Tablo's version was really fun and left a strong impression."

Having been a trainee at SM Entertainment from 2003 to 2015, EJAE reflected, "I was young and it was really tough, but I learned the importance of hard work. There's nothing in the world without a reason."

EJAE named BLACKPINK's Rosé as the K-pop star she most wants to collaborate with. "I really like Rosé. She's great at composing and sings so well," she expressed her admiration. She continued, "I also want to keep working with aespa and collaborate with each member. It's a dream to work with BTS as well."

Meanwhile, EJAE is set to release her solo track 'In Another World' on the 24th. She described it as "a calm song perfect for listening to while taking a walk or before falling asleep," and asked for anticipation.
