Actor Choi Hyun-wook Faces Backlash for Fast Pitch at KBO Game

Recently, Choi took to the fan communication platform Bubble to express his regret, stating, "I should have thrown the ball slowly and closer when a young friend was standing there, but I was too nervous to think about it. I am truly sorry."
He added, "I was excited to watch a baseball game in person after a long time," and admitted, "I was so nervous during the pitch yesterday that the baseball slipped." Choi also mentioned his intention to apologize to the young batter and their parents if he could contact them soon.
Choi Hyun-wook was the ceremonial pitcher for the first game of the KBO League's playoff series between SSG Landers and Samsung Lions at Incheon SSG Landers Field. The ceremonial batter was a young fan of the SSG Landers.
Wearing sunglasses, Choi showcased his skills by throwing a fast pitch from the mound, reminiscent of his days as a player. However, the ball flew over the young fan's head, causing a stir in the stadium. Choi appeared shocked and bowed towards the catcher but did not apologize to the young batter, which led to further criticism.
Choi Hyun-wook, known for his passion for the SSG Landers, was an elite baseball player from elementary school through his first year of high school. He previously made headlines for his fast pitch during an SSG home game last season.
