Actor Kim Soo-hyun Denies Allegations of Underage Relationship Amidst Ongoing Legal Battle

Actor Kim Soo-hyun, embroiled in allegations of a past relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron during her underage years, has resurfaced in the public eye after six months since his tearful press conference in March.

On September 30, Go Sang-rok, a lawyer from the law firm Phil representing Kim Soo-hyun, addressed the allegations on his YouTube channel 'Jingyeok's Go Byeon.' He stated, "I have been appointed as Kim Soo-hyun's representative and have reviewed all the materials. This statement is based on verified facts and objective evidence to restore the actor's tarnished reputation and correct distorted truths."

On the same day, former entertainment journalist Lee Jin-ho released a video titled 'Why Kim Soo-hyun's Ex-Lover's Letter Was Revealed: The Unexpected Truth Behind the Double Dating Rumor!' on his YouTube channel 'Entertainment President.'

Lee Jin-ho claimed, "There is controversy over double dating, but the timeline of the alleged underage relationship claimed by Kim Sae-ron's family through YouTuber Kim Se-eui has been inconsistent."

He further stated, "The revealed letter does not prove that they did not date. Proving a negative is challenging, but as a famous celebrity, Kim Soo-hyun must do so."

Lee Jin-ho also reported that "Kim Soo-hyun is under extreme stress and is coping by hiking alone." He shared a photo from Kim Soo-hyun's Instagram from 2022.

Kim Soo-hyun has been under scrutiny since March for allegedly dating Kim Sae-ron for six years, starting when she was a minor. Initially denying the relationship, Kim Soo-hyun later admitted they dated after she became an adult. The controversy intensified when a letter he sent to Kim Sae-ron during his military service was revealed by 'Gaseyeon.' Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seoul on February 16, Kim Soo-hyun's birthday.

Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, announced plans to pursue the strongest possible legal action against the spread of false information. They have filed charges against 'Gaseyeon' for violating the Stalking Punishment Act and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. A legal battle is also ongoing regarding a 700 million won penalty related to Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving incident.

At the March 31 press conference, Kim Soo-hyun tearfully stated, "I did not date her when she was a minor," and denied that his actions or his agency's pressure over her debts led to her tragic decision.
