G-Dragon Reflects on BIGBANG's Journey and His Role as a 'Genius Producer'

On the YouTube channel 'Hana TV', a video titled 'What Was Your Concern? G-DRAGON Forgets His Worries While Chatting with Kang Ho-dong After 16 Years' was released on the 30th.
In the video, G-Dragon shared his self-profile, recounting his early start in the entertainment industry at the age of five with 'Bbo Bbo Bbo', his time as a child performer, and his transition from an SM trainee at eight to being scouted by YG Entertainment. After six years as a trainee, he debuted with BIGBANG in 2006.

After debuting with BIGBANG, his self-composed song 'Lies' became a national hit, solidifying his presence in K-pop. Regarding the label 'genius producer', he remarked, "I don't consider myself a genius, but it's nice to hear. I'd rather be called a genius than a fool," acknowledging his talent.
When Kang Ho-dong expressed curiosity about G-Dragon's many hit self-composed songs, G-Dragon revealed, "'Lies' wasn't originally our debut song. It was a solo track I wrote, but Yang Hyun-suk, the CEO at the time, suggested it for BIGBANG. I was worried about explaining it to the members and felt pressure that it would be my fault if it didn't succeed."

Approaching their 20th anniversary next year, G-Dragon expressed gratitude to global fans, saying, "It was unbelievable to see people on the other side of the world singing in Korean. It was even more surprising back when K-pop was an unfamiliar term. It's still amazing."
