BTS's V Purchases Luxury Penthouse in Seoul's Prestigious Cheongdam-dong

BTS member V (Kim Taehyung, 29) has made headlines with his recent acquisition of a luxury residence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. The property was purchased for an impressive 14.2 billion KRW (approximately $10.13 million USD), reportedly paid in full without any bank loans.

According to real estate industry sources and official registration documents, V acquired the 273.96 square meter (approximately 2,950 square feet) penthouse in the exclusive 'The Penthouse Cheongdam (PH129)' complex on September 17. The residence, known for its premium status within the complex, features a duplex layout with five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The absence of any mortgage or collateral on the property suggests that V completed the purchase entirely with cash. The sales contract was initially signed in early May, with the final payment and ownership transfer completed on September 17.

'The Penthouse Cheongdam' is a high-end residential complex completed in 2020, consisting of 29 units across six underground and 20 above-ground floors. Each unit is designed with a duplex structure, emphasizing privacy and exclusivity. Notable residents include actor Jang Dong-gun and his wife Ko So-young, professional golfer Park In-bee, and math instructor Hyun Woo-jin.

V is not the only BTS member investing in luxury real estate in Seoul. Fellow member Jin purchased a property in the 'Hannam The Hill' complex for 17.5 billion KRW (approximately $13 million USD) in June, also without a loan. j-hope acquired a penthouse in the 'Aper Han River' complex for about 12 billion KRW (approximately $9 million USD) in 2023. RM and Jimin bought units in 'Nine One Hannam' for 6.3 billion KRW (approximately $4.7 million USD) and 5.9 billion KRW (approximately $4.4 million USD) respectively in 2021. Jungkook resides in a newly built standalone house in Yongsan, while Suga lives in 'Riverhill Hannam.'
