Musical Actor Hong Sung-won Apologizes for Inappropriate Remarks During Performance
Musical actor Hong Sung-won has issued an apology for making inappropriate remarks during a performance.

On the 23rd, Hong Sung-won took to his Instagram to express his regret, stating, "I sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused by my inappropriate expression during the pre-show of the musical 'Burn the Witch' on Saturday, September 20th."

He continued, "I have disappointed the audience and my colleagues. I take full responsibility and will be more cautious with my words and actions in the future."

Earlier, various online communities and social media platforms were abuzz with reviews from attendees of the controversial performance. One attendee, identified as A, recounted, "Hong Sung-won asked if anyone wanted to enjoy the performance several times more and then pointed to someone in the front row, assigning them a role during the show." A added, "He said, 'There's a saying that if a hen crows, the household will fall. Please play the role of the hen.'"

A expressed disbelief, stating, "I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that. I decided to watch the performance and judge for myself, but even after the show, I couldn't understand why Hong Sung-won made such a request to the audience."

In response to the controversy, Hong Sung-won acknowledged the issue and posted an apology. However, he drew attention by disabling comments on the apology post.

Meanwhile, Hong Sung-won recently appeared as Kim Tae-yi in the tvN drama 'Unknown Seoul,' which concluded in June.
