Tom Holland Injured on 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Set, Production Paused for Recovery

On October 22, multiple outlets including Deadline Hollywood and The Hollywood Reporter reported that Sony and Marvel Studios have decided to pause production for about a week, opting not to continue filming without Holland. The production team assured that the release schedule will remain unaffected.
Holland suffered a minor concussion on October 19 after a fall while performing a stunt at the Pinewood Studios in the UK. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation but did not require hospitalization. A female stunt double was also reportedly taken to the hospital from the same location.
The production team stated, "This is a precautionary break," and confirmed that Holland is expected to return to filming within a few days. No other crew members were injured in the incident.
The day after the injury, Holland attended an event for 'The Brothers Trust,' a charity he runs with his brothers, accompanied by his fiancée Zendaya. However, he left early due to his condition.
Previously, Holland expressed excitement about filming on location, saying, "I'm thrilled to shoot on actual locations. Unlike the previous film, which was shot entirely on soundstages during the pandemic, this one will feature large-scale action scenes across the streets of Glasgow."
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,' with producers Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige. Zendaya returns as MJ, with Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas joining the cast. The film is slated for a North American release on July 31, 2026.
