Park Yoochun debuted in 2003 as a member of the group TVXQ. In June 2016, he was accused of rape, but the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence.

In 2019, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, for methamphetamine use. Despite holding a press conference where he stated he would retire from the entertainment industry if found guilty of drug use, he later reversed his decision and continues to be active, primarily in Japan and other international markets.

In December of last year, Park Yoochun was listed by the National Tax Service as a habitual tax delinquent, owing approximately 409 million won in taxes, including capital gains tax from 2016.
